No admissions in 4 medical colleges
The Medical Council of India has announced that four medical colleges in the state have been denied permission to admit students for the 2001-02 academic year. Out of this four, three are in the private sector while one is a government college.
The colleges which have not been permitted to take students this year are S. V. S Medical College in Mahabubnagar, Narayana Medical College [Nellore], Asram Medical College [Anatapur].
Acccording to Press Information Bureau [PIB], in al, 45 Medical and Dental Colleges in the country have been denied permission to admit students for the year 2001-02 for non-renewal of permission from the Central Government as per the regulations of Medical Council
of India [MCI] / Dental Council of India [DCI].
M. B. A. Admissions
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University invites applications from eligible candidates for admission
into Master’s Degree in Business Administration [M. B. A] in English Medium for academic year 2001 - 2002.
Admission is through the Common Entrance Test ICET - 2001 conducted in May, 2001 by the Osmania University on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. Admission will be given only to the qualified candidates in the ICET based on merit. In addition, the candidate must fulfill the following admission requirements for Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University.
The University is reserved 50:50 percent seats for inservice personal and fresh graduates. Inservice candidate who have a Graduate / Postgraduate with two years of supervisory / Managerial / Professional experience as on 24 - 06 - 2001 is eligible for M. B. A. admission.
Fresh Graduate or a postgraduate from any faculty of a recognised University is eligible to apply.
The M. B. A. programme is offered through study centres of Anantapur, Cuddapah, Hyderabad &
Secunderabad, Karimnagar, Kurnoool, Mahaboobnagar, Nizamabad, Rajahmundry,
Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakahapatnam, Warangal.
Application forms can be obtained between 11am to 4.30pm from the University Headquarters at Road No 46, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad - 500033 on all days except Monday or from the study centres. The cost of application form - cum - prospectus is Rs. 100. Applications can also be obtained by post from The Director, Student Services, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, Road No. 46, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad - 33, by sending a crossed demand draft for Rs. 130. The D. D. should drawn in favour of 'The Registrar, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad', payable at Hyderabad, along with a written requisition letter giving correct full address and pincode.
Diploma courses
The Deportments of Arabic, Persian and Tamil, University College of Arts and Social Sciences
[Autonomous], Osmania University [OU] will offer a one-year junior diploma courses in the languages respectively during evening hours [between 5 a. m. and 7 p. m.] this year.
Minimum qualification for admission to the said courses is Intermediate pass or its equivalent
examination.
Further details can had from the heads of departments between 10 a. m. and 3 p. m. on all working days. Application forms are available from the university press. The filled-in application form should be submitted to the department heads concerned at University College of Arts on or before July 16.
Ph.D. programme
The Osmania University has issued notification for registration to Ph.D. programme in various faculties for the year 2001. Application forms can be obtained from the University press on payment of Rs. 25. Filled in applications along with the requisite enclosures including a synopsis, research supervisor’s consent and a demand draft of Rs. 50 towards registration
should be submitted in the office of the concerned Dean before July 31.
