Southern Online Services is a facilities based Internet service provider.
1MBPS direct Internet Gateway backbone from VSNL. The VSNL directly
connected to ITALY Gateway. Network circuits are provisioned on
separate local carriers and utilize a 100Mbps Ethernet backbone for the
highest level of availability and Redundancy.
Network circuit is connected to 3640 Cisco router. This router is
connected to Redundant Intel (100 MB) switches that carry all IP traffic
to the web servers. All network facilities are protected by multiple line
conditioners / surge protectors and backed up by both redundancy UPS
and stand by of 10,000 watt diesel generators. HP tape backups are
performed daily, weekly, monthly stored offsite.
