Double openings at Annapurna

Annapurna studios is the busiest studio in the capital. More often than not, producers choose this venue for the launch of their films. Sentimentally, a lot of directors and producers feel that any film launched here gets completed without any problems. So, on 18th of October, two films took their first takes here. 'Swarnayugam' by SV Krishna Reddy and 'Sampangi' from Sana Yadi Reddy started almost at the same time, minutes difference in their Muhurthams. Adding to the festive atmosphere and the eminent guests was the shooting of 'Babi' on the first floor, with Jagapati Babu as the Hero.



Chakravarthy, Soundarya Pair Up

SV Krishna Reddy has completed 25 films as a director. But for one film, the other 24 have been started in front of the glass house in the Annapurna studios. Sentimental that he is, he chose the same spot fr 'Swarnayugam' with Chakri and Soundarya in the lead. The first shot was taken on them as Dasari Narayana gave the clap and producer Devi Vara Prasad switched the camera on.

After the 'Muhurtham', SVK spoke about the film. "It is an effort to explain the concept of Swarnandhra Pradesh which is floated by our CM Sri Chandrababu Naidu. Every character int his film has an aim in life. How they achieve their targets is shown in the film. The message is 'how one has to be loyal to one's education and not to use it for cheap profits'.

The dialogue writer is a newcomer Rajendra Kumar. He promises some commercial element in the film and sure that everyone will like it. Being made under the banner 'Taranga' films other credits go to; Camera - Sarath; Story, Screen Play, Music, Direction - SV Krishna Reddy; Producer - 'Tarnaga' Subramanyam.


College Audio Release

After the 'Muhurtam' of Swarnayugam, SVK released the audio cassettes of 'College', another film made by Taranga films. Coming under the direction of Ravi Chavali the cast has Sivaji, Manya, Babloo, Lahari, Srinu, Basha and others. Apart from the actors and actresses, the film's technicians attented the function.


Sampangi Kicks off

Coming from legal profession without any pre understanding of cinema, Sana Yadi Reddy hit the successpath with his very first film 'Pittala Dora'. Though his next film is a disappointment (Prema Pallaki), in true lawyer style of going for an apeal, he hit te jackpot with his third film, 'Bachelors'.

Made with four new comers, He proved his worth as a Director with Bachelors. Riding the wave of success, he started a new film, a love story by name 'Sampagi'. Made under the banner of 'Sri Kalyani Venkateshwara Films', the film has Deepak as hero and new face Kanchi Kaul as heroine.

"Having made Bachelors for youth, now I want to make Sampangi for all sections of audience. It is an interesting story with an equally interesting narrative" says the Director.

Going to be shot at one go, the shooting will go on till November 15th. From November 30th the songs will be filmed. Chandra Mohan, Ranganath, Chalapathi Rao, Sivaji Raja, Ganesh, Sangeeta play important roles.

Suman is "Inspector Vikram"

Police roles have always brought special recognition for Suman . after a gap of some time, Suman is going to play a police officer's role in inspector 'Inspector Vikram'. Being made by 'Vijetha Movies' the shooting for the film started on the 19th of this month in Saradhi Studios. The first shot was taken on the Heroinnes of the movie, Charulatha & Roopa. The Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, S K Sukumara gave the clap while exhibitor B V Ramireddy switched on the camera.

Director J J Prakasha Rao gave the outline of the story. 
"The Herroine of gets jailed wrongly because of the hero. Once he realises that he has erred, the hero helps the heroinne prove her innocence". "The story will mainly be sentiment and entertainment oriented" he said.

In the schedule which is going to last till Nov 10th most of the film will be shot but for the songs. For both the herrriones Charulatha and Roopa this is the first Telugu film. Charulatha comes from Kannada industry, where she acted in about 25 films. Roopa acted in Tamil and Malayalam films.


'Uncle' completes shooting

On the 24th October, 'Uncle' completed all formalities. Coming up under Sri Ganesh Films, the film was shot for 31 days in Hyderabad & Araku.

Noted Comedian AVS plays the tittle role in the film, which introduces a new Director, Rajshekar, the the Telugu Screen. Tarun and Pallavi take the romantic roles. On the 20th at a function in the film chamber Murali Mohan and Dr, K L Narayana released the Film's Logo.

AVS gave the credit to the Director for completing the film as per schedule. Dubbing takes place from Nov 5th to 15th and the Movie should hit the screens in the first week of December.


Saikumar's 'Atanu'

Saikumar is pairing up with Rachana for the new film. The Tittle has been decided as 'Atanu'.
Being made by yet another new Director 'Satyam Babu', this is a story with a difference according to the producer P L N Reddy.

The film has already done its schedule in Hyderabad and Tirupathi and is half way through. The plans are to complete the songs by the 6th of November.

Sai Kumar, Rachana, Brahmanandam, AVS, P J Sharma, L B Sriram, and Kovai Sarala play the main roles.
