Trilingual film Srimanjunatha 80 percent complete
After the phenomenal success of Annamayya, comes Sri Manjunatha a period
film made in three languages Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. Directed by K
Raghavendra Rao, the film is being presently shot in Bangalore. In this
schedule eight songs will be picturised on Arjun and Soundarya.

In Sri Manjunatha, Chiranjeevi dons the role of Lord Siva, Meena his
consort Parvati, Arjun his devotee and Soundarya as Arjun’s wife.
Recently, some vital scenes were shot at Ramoji Film City in a costly
set resembling an ashram and some more important scenes were shot in
Hampi.

In another set resembling Kailash erected at Kantarava Studio, a
song was picturised on Chiranjeevi and Meena.
Speaking about the film, Chiranjeevi said that when he was getting ready
to go to South Africa for the shooting of Mrigaraju, the writer of
Annamayya, Bharavi, rang him up and said he would narrate a story. “With
the respect he has gained from Annamayya, I couldn’t say no, and when he
narrated the story and the role of Lord Siva that he wanted me to play,
I liked it instantly. Immediately, I rang up the producer Jayadevi and
the director K Raghavendra Rao and gave my consent.”
“It is the first full length devotional film in my career. In the past
I enacted Lord Siva’s role in two films, ‘Parvati Parameswarulu’ and
‘Apadbhandhavudu’ for a few minutes on stage, but in this film I am
donning the role of Siva, drawn from incidents in his life. I am very
happy about it.”
This film showcases a different aspect of Siva who will appear in
different disguises, hitherto unknown to the people. “Appearing in
different guises of Siva gives me a wonderful feeling,” Chiranjeevi
added.
The trilingual film has completed 80 per cent of the shooting. Some
scenes relating to Chiranjeevi will be shot in January.

Narasimha Naidu ready for release
The shooting of Narasimha Naidu has almost come to an end with the
picturisation of a song on Balakrishna and Asha Saini and 40 dancers in
five sets erected for the purpose in Annapurna Studios. Lawrence is the
choreographer for the film. Another song is presently being shot on
Balakrishna and Simran in Ramoji Film City. With this the shooting will
be complete and the film will be released on Sankranti eve on January
11.
Speaking on
the occasion, director B Gopal said that the audio of
the film has become a craze and he has been receiving
wonderful response from the distributors. It would a
sensational film like Samarasimha Reddy, he
maintained.

Apparao nela tappadu starts
The evergreen comedian Rajendra Prasad is back in the saddle again in a
new film launched by the ace comedy director Relangi Narasimha Rao who
has made more than 40 films with Rajendra Prasad.
The film was launched on January 1, 2001 by producer EVV Mallikarjuna
Prasad at Annapurna Studios. Srihari gave the clap and the muhurat shot
was done on Rajendra Prasad and new actress Madhumita.
Later addressing a press conference, Relangi Narasimha Rao said that all
the films he had made with Rajendra Prasad went on to become super duper
hits. The present film will also be in the same category. He surmised
that the film would run for a year. The film purports to be a comedy
family drama in the typical Rajendra Prasad genre.
Narasimha Rao stated that he had plans of making the film in three
languages and added that almost all the comedians will be acting in this
film.
The film will be completed in a single schedule starting from January 1.

Kalalu kandam raa..
Low-budget films have never done so well. Cashing in on the trend more
and more filmmakers are announcing small budget films. M I Kureshi, who
has been distributing films for the last 28 films under his company
Royal Films, has announced a film with an all new star cast on December
30 at Annapurna Studios.
The muhurat shot was done on debutant actors Prem Kumar, Divya
Trivedi, Sangeet Rai and Nisha. The director of the film, Bapi Reddy
Kolli, who was the co-director for 28 films from Mogudu Kaavali to Jai Bhajaranga
Bali, said that the focus is on providing some good entertainment and
that the film will appeal to all sections of society.
The film will be completed in a single schedule starting from January 1,
in Ramoji Film City. The picturisation of songs will be taken up first.
Producer Kureshi said that he had entered filmmaking deriving
inspiration from the success of Chitram and Nuvve Kaavali. Five songs
have been recorded in Mumbai, he said adding that the film would be
dubbed into Hindi and Tamil.

Tamasha song picturised in Ramoji Film City
A song titled Tamasha… Tamasha… was picturised on four young heroes for
the film Tamasha at Ramoji Film City. The lyric which was written by RDS
Prakash was picturised on Satish, Anilraj, Ravinder, Siddhartha and
Master Nagacharan by the director Sunder. There are altogether five
songs in the film.
Producer Sivanagu said that with this song the shooting is over. The
dubbing part is already over and rerecording will start very soon. The
film is slated to be released in the third week of January.

Snehitudaa…
The shooting of Snehitudaa… starring Sivaji, Rakesh and Roopa which
started recently will go on till January 26 in Hyderabad. A youthful
entertainer the film is about friendship of the kind we have seen in
films like Saajan, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Allari Priyudu.
Scenes relating to college students and their love life will be shot at
Venkateswara Engineering college, a private house in Jubilee Hills, and
Public Gardens.
Sivaji, one of the heroes of the film, said that he plays the role of a
guy who does anything for his friend.
Producer K Satyanarayana said that he didn’t compromise on the cost of
production at any stage and that he would do anything to make Snehitudaa… a good film. In this schedule the talkie part will be over
and the songs will be taken up in February.

75 per cent of 6 Teens complete
6 Teens, the film which revolves round the antics of the youth, has
finished 70 per cent of its shooting.
Produced by Jakkula Srinivasa Reddy and directed by G Nageswara Reddy,
the film is being shot without a break in various locations in and
around Hyderabad.

Nageswara Reddy said that Ashok Suddala’s lyric ‘Devudu Varamiste Ninne
Korukunta’ would be shot on Mahesh, Rohit and Ruthika on roads and parks
of twin cities. He said that college episodes involving M S Narayana
will be shot in a college at Gandipet for five days from January 26.
There are six songs in the film.

The film’s central theme would be as to how the youth shouldn’t waste
their valuable time. Apart from love there is a message for the youth in
the end. L B Sriram’s comedy is a plus point for the film. The film is slated for a Valentine’s Day release.

Kanya ready for release
Kanya, produced by N Nagarjuna Reddy under the Mother India Movies
banner, is all set for release.
A whodonnit drama, the story revolves round five characters. Some
characters come in between and as the film progresses the suspense
heightens as to who has committed the murders.
