The choice of accommodation ranges from the exclusive to the
ordinary, (please refer to the Directory of Services for classification and addresses), Hyderabad, because of its
growing importance as a
business and tourist center, has an expanding list of hotels.
Reservations for hotel bookings can be made directly, or through a travel agent or through APTTDC. Large hotels
can be booked through
telephones, telexes or fax. Room tariffs in comparison to other large
metropolitan cities in India are relatively low in Hyderabad. Charges are normally quoted for
single/double bed per night, with provision
for an extra cot or crib.
The larger hotels offer both the English (room
only) and American (room and board) plans, while most others offer fixed rates for room only. Only a
few hotels have a 24-hour
check-out time. It is important that you confirm check-out timings
before you book your accommodation. Most hotels charge an additional sales tax (7-15%)

A large number of hotels fall in the inexpensive category. Very few of them
provide air-conditioned
